Overwing Refuelling with Avgas/JET: mark your nozzle

Overwing refuelling of helicopters and smaller aircraft is effected with either Avgas (aircraft gasoline) or with JET fuel (similar to highly pure Diesel).

Fuelling an aircraft with the incorrect type of fuel is called a misfuelling and this can result in catastrophic consequences. Therefore nozzles should be marked:

  • AVGAS nozzles - RED colour
  • JET A1 nozzles - BLACK colour

For an improved marking, ELAFLEX now offers stickers (decals). For further details please read Information 7.05.

Additionally, we would like to inform our customers that for ZVA 32 the cover (scuffguard) now is also available in red colour.
